With the move to send Seahawks WR Percy Harvin to the New York Jets for a 4th-6th round pick coming from seemingly out of nowhere, several NFL insiders revealed that the Seahawks had actually been actively shopping Harvin in an attempt to land a high-caliber TE.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Seattle attempted to acquire Broncos tight end Julius Thomas in a trade with Denver. The Broncos “never hesitated even with Thomas playing on an expiring contract,” Schefter reports.
The Browns, Buccaneers and Broncos were all potential trade partners for Seattle prior to the Jets deal, per Schefter.
Additionally, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported Sunday the Seahawks tried to acquire Jordan Cameron from the Browns for Harvin.
