Texas A&M football had a rocky season as they initially appeared to be legitimate national championship contenders after dominating South Carolina, 52-28, in their season opener.
Quarterback Kenny Hill was also widely considered a leading Heisman Trophy candidate after bursting onto the scene with 511 yards and three touchdowns in his starting debut.
However, the Aggies and Hill’s play trailed off after a 5-0 start. The quarterback was eventually benched in favor of Kyle Allen after a rough patch, and he has since announced his intention to transfer.
The Aggies granted Hill his release, and he is now free to transfer to any college he chooses. It is rumored that Hill wants to transfer to TCU, who was in the national title hunt this season.
