Respected football journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft has claimed that Schalke’s prodigal attacker Julian Draxler will be allowed to leave this January should a club meet his release clause.
Not only will Draxler be allowed to leave, but the player himself will be happy to sign for a different club too, Fjortoft reckons.
Here’s what the former Norwegian forward tweeted last night…
Re:Draxler – has a BuyOutClause every summer -I’ve been told he can go NOW if a club offers MORE than clause (not confirmed) IS HE OFF NOW?

Re: Draxler. Didn’t think that he could be bought this window. Schalke will battle to keep him, but if they have to…. #PlayersPower

Re: Draxler Clause: 45 mill euro / £ 37,3 mill How much higher must a club pay? Dont know! Will the player go if he could? My guess: YES

Arsenal are interested in Draxler, who at just 20-years-old, is one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.
The playmaker has been an ever present in both the Bundesliga and Champions League when available, and he’s scored four and assisted five goals in both the competitions combined.
If the Gunners are willing to take the risk and meet Draxler’s hefty release clause, they could sign the uber talented German international before the end of the month.
