Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has signed a five-year contract extension with the Tigers.
It means the dynamic midfielder will remain at Tigerland until at least 2020, meaning the 24-year-old will be in his 30’s once his new deal expires.
“We are thrilled to have Trent commit to Richmond on such a long-term deal,” said Richmond general football manager Dan Richardson in a statement.
“Clearly his decision indicates that he is fully behind the direction the club is heading, and he has a desire to lead the playing group as it continues to mature and improve.
“Trent has grown into an outstanding leader of the club, while maintaining an extremely high level of on-field performance.”
Cotchin has played 131 games in his seven seasons at Richmond.
