Bosnian international had been linked with summer exit to Tottenham.
Roma coach Rudi Garcia has hailed the impact midfielder Miralem Pjanic has had so far in pre-season, and sees him as a vital player in his team next season.
The Bosnian midfielder had been linked with a move to White Hart Lane to join Tottenham this summer, although since the arrival of Garcia as the new coach of the Giallorossi, it appears as though he will be handed a significant role in the team next season.
Given the responsibility of providing the creativity and craft in midfield alongside Kevin Strootman and in all probability Daniele De Rossi when he recovers from an ankle injury, Roma boast an incredibly gifted midfield trio.
After a disappointing season last year, Garcia is keen to forget what has gone on before him, and is ready to lead the club into a new era of success.
“This Pjanic here is the one I remembered from Lyon,” he said as quoted by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“What happened in the two previous years, I do not care, for me it is important that you feel good now. Technically he is a very important player for my game.”
Garcia also lauded the effect Michael Bradley has on the squad, hailing both his ability on the pitch and his influence off it within the squad.
The American international will face stiff competition for a place in the starting line-up next season along with Alessandro Florenzi, but it would appear that Garcia is relishing the prospect of his first season in charge of the capital club.
“He is not only a great player, but also a great person. Someone who works on the field for his team-mates, and for a coach he is a fantastic player.
“Next to people like Pjanic, Strootman and De Rossi he can only do even better, especially in technical terms,” he added.
Morgan De Sanctis, Maicon, Mehdi Benatia, Tin Jedvaj and Gervinho are all looking to impress ahead of the new campaign, and it promises to be an exciting year at the Stadio Olimpico.
