Giallorossi set for further changes ahead of new season.
Roma have reportedly made a bid worth €18m for Atletico Madrid star Adrian as reports continue to suggest they will lose either Erik Lamela or Osvaldo.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it is understood within the Spanish media that the Serie A giants have already submitted their bid as director Walter Sabatini looks to take advantage of issues between the player and coach Diego Simone.
However, they are likely to face competition for his signature, with Valencia also reportedly interested in signing him this summer.
Nevertheless, Roma’s reported interest is likely to have a knock-on effect on either Osvaldo or Lamela’s future at the club.
Both players have been linked with an exit this summer, with Tottenham interest in both while Southampton have reportedly made a bid for the 27-year-old striker too.
The Giallorossi have spent substantially this summer, and it is believed that they must sell in order to help balance the books. As a result, doubts have emerged over Lamela’s future, despite the hierarchy hoping to sell Osvaldo instead.
Sabatini reportedly returned from England on Thursday night, where Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has made it clear to the club that he wishes to sign Lamela.
However, Roma are hoping to hold on to the promising 21-year-old who has been tipped for a bright future, and are instead hopeful that an agreement can be reached to sell Osvaldo.
Nevertheless, it appears as though they are already making contingency plans in case they lose the pair, and have now identified who Rudi Garcia will look to replace his stars with.
