Tin Zedvaj has given his first press conference after his move to Rudi Garcia’s Roma side.
Tin Zedvaj, As Roma’s new €5m signing from Dinamo Zagreb’s has given his first press conference to Roma’s official club website.
Tottenham were reportedly chasing the youngster, along with his Zagreb teammate Alen Halilovic, who has already made an appearance for Croatia’s senior national side. The race for Halilovic’s signature will no doubt speed up now Zedvaj has moved on.
Zedvaj is a typical modern centre-back; composed on the ball, and comfortable playing out from the back.
“I don’t like describing myself but if I have to name my qualities then I’d say my technical ability and my sense of positioning. Thiago Silva and David Luiz are players I try to emulate. I’d like to become like them because they’re very calm and confident,” said the 17-year-old prodigy.

Zedvaj’s arrival will heighten speculation that Roma are replacing one teenage defender with another, as uncertainty surrounding Brazilian defender Marquinhos refuses to die down. The 19-year-old stopper has only played one season in Italy since arriving from Corinthians, but has been linked heavily with PSG and Barcelona after a fantastic debut year.
The young Croat though, is looking to follow the brilliant example Marquinhos has set for teenage defenders all over Europe.
“Do I know Marquinhos? Sure, he only started playing for Roma last season and now he’s known all over Europe – it just goes to show that age doesn’t matter,” Zedvaj told Roma’s official website.
“I’m also going to try and seize every opportunity the coach gives me.”
