Champions League triumph – 2012
The 2011/12 season saw the coming and going of the most expensive manager in history at Stamford Bridge in Andre Villas-Boas and likable former player Roberto Di Matteo employed as caretaker boss.
Di Matteo led the side to FA Cup victory before bringing Abramovich the one trophy he had always wanted at Chelsea – the Champions League.
After knocking out favourites Barcelona in the semi-finals, the Blues endured a tense final in Munich at the ground of opponents Bayern Muncih.
In his last match for the club Drogba scored the equaliser in the dying minutes and then the winning penalty in the shootout to secure his place as a Chelsea legend.
