Everton
A return to Everton for Lukaku has been mentioned in the press, but the Toffees are unlikely to be able to match Chelsea’s valuation for a permanent transfer and the player himself has dismissed the idea of spending another season out on loan.
If he did have a change of heart and choose to spend another year away from Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis, however, it is likely that Everton would be at the front of the queue considering Lukaku’s fine relationship with manager Roberto Martinez and the club’s supporters.
He has already shown that he is capable of scoring goals at Goodison Park and the club are unlikely to be able to find a more impressive replacement on a permanent basis this summer, so would welcome him back with opens arms.
