The clock is ticking on Cristiano Ronaldo’s career in Spain. Will the scoring megastar return to the Premier League?
Man United boss Louis van Gaal is eager to bring Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, but may have to settle for a one-year wait.
According to the Metro, Real Madrid are reconsidering Ronaldo’s future with the club since hiring Rafa Benitez as the new manager and will consider letting him go NEXT year as opposed to this summer. Though Ligue 1 giants Paris St. Germain are considered top contenders for any potential Ronaldo deal, the Express reported that Man United will fight for the right to seal a deal for the £66.5 million-rated scoring ace.
A breakout star with Man United in 2006, Ronaldo led the Red Devils to three consecutive Premier League championships and countless accolades before a record-setting sale to Real Madrid in 2009. Since joining the La Liga club, Ronaldo has been virtually unstoppable, scoring 225 goals in just 200 appearances and recording 31 hat tricks. He has scored 50+ goals in each of the last five seasons.
