The midfielder has been out of action since the Gunners 2-1 Cup quarterfinal victory at Old Trafford in March in which he set-up his side’s opening goal.
And despite Arsene Wenger’s continued insistence the 21-year-old could return at some point before the end of the season, Hodgson has declared he would be surprised if the former Southampton man featured at Wembley on May 30th.
Indeed, the England boss says the reason Oxlade-Chamberlain wasn’t selected for the post-season international double header is because of his continued groin problem.
“I’d be surprised if he’s fit for the FA Cup final. Put it that way,” said Hodgson in his press conference, according to Oliver Kay from The Times.

Arsene Wenger said after last night’s 0-0 draw with Sunderland that Chamberlain was coming back into full training but not completely available for selection yet.
“Alex is coming back into full training. He’s not completely ready yet. I can’t tell you if he will be available to go with England,” said Wenger according to Arsenal official website.
