The top two IPL sides go head to head in this fascinating Twenty20 clash.
It’s a big match in the 2013 IPL as first play second with Royal Challengers Bangalore hosting league leaders Rajasthan Royals.
Rajasthan have had an impressive if somewhat surprising start to the new season, winning four of their opening five matches including a huge 87 run victory over Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.
Bizarrely their only defeat of the year came against perennial IPL strugglers Pune Warriors, by a comprehensive seven wicket margin.
However, the Royal Challengers will almost certainly be their toughest task yet and Rahul Dravid’s men will have to be at the top of their game to take anything from the tie.
RCB have also enjoyed a good start to the 2013 campaign, with big hitters Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle continuing where they left off 12 months ago and propelling themselves to the top of the Orange Cap standings.
Captain Kohli has been the biggest achiever with the bat, outshining Gayle with 321 runs from six innings and he has the highest individual score of the tournament with 93 not-out.
Bangalore also have South African AB de Villiers as part of their impressive batting line-up so there is every chance the match with Rajasthan will include some big scores.
For the away side it has been their bowlers who have been doing the best job; with Ankeet Chavan, Ajit Chandila and James Faulkner all playing well, whilst West Indian Kevon Cooper is joint second in the wickets table with nine dismissals.
