Gold Coast Titans prop Paul Carter has been sacked after he was caught drink driving for the second time this year.
Titans chief executive Graham Annesley confirmed the club would tear up Carter’s contract after he was arrested by police in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident comes just days after the Titans stripped Greg Bird of the co-captaincy after he was handed a criminal infringement notice for urinating in public the day after his wedding in Byron Bay.
Winger Jason Roberts was arrested in late October and charged with public nuisance and obstructing police, and was fined $3000 by the Titans despite the charges being dropped.
Carter was named Gold Coast’s rookie of the year but was stood down in June after he was caught drink driving almost four times over the legal limit.
