England forward Gareth Hock following a number of disciplinary issues.
Hock was handed a six-game ban by the Rugby Football league last week after twice using his knees recklessly during Salford’s 52-6 loss to St Helens last month.
The 31-year-old also missed the closing stages of the 2014 season after being found guilty of deliberately making contact with a referee.
Salford owner Marwan Koukash confirmed Hock’s axing on Twitter, saying he would continue to help the former Wigan Warriors man.
“Gareth Hock has left the club,” Koukash tweeted.
“I thank him for his services and wish him well and the very best for the future. Good luck mate.
“Whatever you think of Gaz as a player, he is a very nice person and did deserve all the help he got and will get off me.”
