The Gunners are long term admirers of the 27-year-old German, but have seemingly missed their chance to secure his signature. Khedira was close to agreeing a move to the Emirates Stadium last season, but could’t agree on wages.
Khedira joined Madrid from Stuttgard in 2010, after impressing at the World Cup in South Africa, and now looks set to return to his home country, where he will join Roberto Di Matteo’s resurgent side.
The Champions League winner has made 102 league appearances for Real Madrid over the last four seasons, scoring six goals.
