Threat of snow and flash floods sees game postponed.
Officials in Italy have called off Sunday’s Serie A game between Sampdoria and Inter Milan due to the threat of snow and flash floods.
A statement on the the league’s official website, legaseriea.it, said the fixture had to be postponed following weather warnings from officials in Genoa.
“The match between Sampdoria and Inter at the Ferraris di Genoa stadium has had to be postponed due to the threat of bad weather,” said the statement.
“The decision was taken by local officials in Genoa following a dangerous weather alert.”
Inter sit fifth in Serie A, 18 points behind leaders Juventus, who beat Bologna 2-0 on Saturday, and four behind city rivals Milan, who host Palermo on Sunday, in the final Champions League qualifying place.
