Unclear where Cameroon striker will move to from Russia this summer.
The agent of Samuel Eto’o is set to fly to London on Monday, while the Anzhi striker remains in Milan amid speculation of a return to former club Inter.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 32-year-old is currently in Milan with his family, and while reports in the Italian media continue to talk up a return to former club Inter, his agent, Claudio Vigorelli, is expected to speak with Chelsea on Monday afternoon.
Nerazzurri owner Massimo Moratti has revealed that he will adopt a “wait and see” approach over whether or not he can bring Eto’o back to the San Siro, with his wage demands a potential stumbling block.
It is understood that Inter Milan are unable to compete with Chelsea financially, and so it may come down to whether or not Eto’o would prefer a return to Serie A or a switch to the Premier League.
The one factor in Inter’s favour is that they are willing to offer a two-year deal worth a reported €4.5m per year, while Chelsea are only offering a one-year contract.
As previously reported by Gazzetta, Vigorelli has placed doubt over a potential reunion with Jose Mourinho this time at Stamford Bridge, as the club’s policy of not offering more than a one-year deal to players over 30 could put Eto’o off.
It remains to be seen whether or not Moratti makes his move this week, but much will depend on the outcome of talks with the Blues.
