Suh is the most highly sought after free agent in a stacked 2015 crop, having played out his rookie contract with the Detroit Lions.
He is expected to receive at least $100 million in his new contract, and it seems inevitable that teams will get into a bidding war for him.
The Chargers employ a 3-4 defense, and Suh played in a 4-3 scheme with the Lions. Someone with his talent should have no problem adjusting though, and he would immediately upgrade their run defense – which ranked 26th in the NFL.
The Lions had the top-ranked rushing defense in 2014 as Suh came up with 8.5 sacks. He also registered two in a playoff loss to the Dallas Cowboys, who have the most dominant offensive line in the league.
The Chargers failed to make the playoffs in 2014 with a 9-7 record, but Suh would easily be a game-changer for their struggling defense. They will look to take advantage of being $26 million under the salary cap.
