Quarterback Colin Kaepernick had to deal with an incomplete offensive line, so he was held to 59 yards on 6-for-12 passing. Blaine Gabbert looked much-improved with 66 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-11 passing.
Glenn Winston led the team in rushing with 58 yards on eight carries, including a 27-yard touchdown run. Carlos Hyde added another 38 yards on six carries.
The defense was back on form with rookie inside linebacker Chris Borland leading the way with seven tackles and a sack.
Although the Chargers were held to seven points, quarterback Philip Rivers continued to look great as he passed for 85 yards and a touchdown on 9-for-10 passing.
Rookie running back Marion Grice led the Chargers in rushing with 36 yards on seven carries, and tight end Antonio Gates showed that he will still be a major part of the offense by catching a touchdown pass with three receptions and 28 yards.
Ryan Mathews also looked solid as he finished with 22 yards on four carries and 26 receiving yards on two receptions.
