Reports have spread about the San Francisco 49ers, saying that head coach Jim Harbaugh is in a rift with his players and will not return next season.
One report from SB Nation even went as far as to say that Harbaugh will leave San Francisco even if the 49ers win the Super Bowl. However, 49ers owner Jed York leaped to Harbaugh’s defense and said that he is the 49ers coach.
The owner released a brief statement on Twitter and also said that Harbaugh is trying to win a Super Bowl rather than a popularity contest.
Here is the 49ers owner’s tweet defending his head coach.
Jim is my coach. We are trying to win a SB, not a personality or popularity contest. Any more questions?
