The San Francisco 49ers have two quality running backs in Frank Gore and rookie Carlos Hyde, who both played solidly in the 49ers’ season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
This likely influenced the team’s decision to move on without running back LaMichael James, who has been nothing more than a change-of-pace back and return man for the 49ers.
This may be a surprise move to some fans though considering Kendall Hunter went down with a season-ending injury, but Gore remains the team’s starter while Hyde will receive his share of carries as well.
