Brazilian striker set to take time over his decision.
Santos sensation Neymar will weigh up his options after it was confirmed the club had accepted bids from two clubs, widely thought to be Barcelona and Real Madrid.
The Brazilian club confirmed on Friday that two bids had been accepted for the 21-year-old, and it was now up to both the player and his representatives over which move he prefers.
A statement from the club read: “In a meeting with representatives of the management committee of Santos FC, striker Neymar Jr was made aware of the offers received by the club and he will analyse them in the coming days before making a final decision.”
It is thought that Neymar has a verbal agreement with Barcelona which was made some time ago that he would shun offers elsewhere to seal a move to the Camp Nou when he eventually moved to Europe.
However, with Santos accepting an offer from fierce rivals Real Madrid, he now has options ahead of arguably the biggest decision of his career, with the club revealing both offers are of similar value.
However, Neymar will not be rushed into a decision and he is keen to take his time over deciding which Spanish giants he will join this summer.
“This is an honour, the happiest moment in my life,” he told Globo Esporte according to Sky Sports.
“I will now think about these two proposals. I will decide with my family. There’s no hurry. Decision can be made in five minutes, half an hour, or three days.”
Speculation throughout the season suggested that it was a certainty the Brazilian star would join the Catalans, but with Madrid swooping in at the last minute to tempt him away, it remains to be seen where he will be plying his trade next season.
