El Mundo Deportivo journalist says Neymar has already agreed a deal to join Barca.
Santos forward Neymar will move to FC Barcelona this summer, according to Catalan newspaper El Mundo Deportivo journalist Paco Aguilar.
“Neymar will play for FC Barcelona next year. The contract is done,” he told Radio Monte Carlo.
The Brazilian superstar forward has been linked with the Spanish giants for the last few seasons, but only now appears set to finally clinch the transfer.
Neymar is now 21 years of age, and having won the Copa Libertadores with Santos in 2011 and Campeonato Paulista in each of the last three years, there is little left for him to achieve in Brazil.
However, the common consensus has been that Neymar’s aim has been to stay with his current club until after the 2014 FIFA World Cup in his home country, and it is that which appears to have changed.
Barcelona have noticeably been rather toothless in their last two UEFA Champions League matches without a fully fit Lionel Messi at the forefront of their attack.
They failed to score in either tie against a very good Bayern Munich side, and Neymar’s trickiness either in the forward role or from the left could be a valuable asset.
