Schneiderlin has been strongly linked with a departure from St Mary’s ever since revealing his desire to play Champions League football for a ‘big’ club.
It was thought the France international would leave the Saints over the summer when manager Mauricio Pochettino and key players Calum Chambers, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Luke Shaw all left for Premier League rivals.
However, Schneiderlin was convinced to stay for a while longer, but Pochettino’s presence at new club Tottenham led many to believe the 25-year-old would be heading to White Hart Lane in the near future.
Yet while the Frenchman wants to move to North London it is the Emirates Stadium that he has his eyes on as his new home and Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of his fellow countryman.
Wenger has been keeping tabs on Schneiderlin since he was a teenager and it’s believed a bid of around £25m would be enough to convince the Hampshire side to sell the midfield ace to the Gunners.
