GK – Mark Schwarzer
Signed on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2013 the veteran goalkeeper played a key role last season after injury to Petr Cech, but since the return of Thibaut Courtois was surplus to requirements and joined Leicester City this January.
RB – Patrick van Aanholt
Technically a left-back this Dutchman never really got his chance in West London and has since been impressing with Sunderland since joining them last summer.
CB – Jeffrey Bruma
Another Netherlands international now, with Bruma finally leaving the Bridge for PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013.
CB – David Luiz
The departure of Luiz was considered a good deal by many as the Blues received £40m from Paris Saint-Germain for the Brazilian – almost double what they paid for him.
LB – Ashley Cole
A stalwart in the first team until Mourinho moved Cesar Azpilicueta to left-back and after 12 months as backup the Englishman left for AS Roma on a free transfer.
