Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will need Tommy John surgery on his elbow, according to head coach Pete Carroll.
Although it is certainly not intended to take away from the New England Patriots’ stunning Super Bowl victory, reports have surfaced saying that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman played with torn ligaments in his left elbow.

Sherman had previously dislocated his elbow in the NFC Championship as the Seahawks came back in spectacular fashion to return to the Super Bowl.
This has caused speculation that Sherman may need Tommy John surgery on his elbow. Head coach Pete Carroll has confirmed that this is indeed the case.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Caplan reported on Carroll’s comments on Sherman on Twitter.
