Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane, who started out as the team’s new nickel corner following Walter Thurmond’s departure, endured a groin injury in the season opener against the Green Bay Packers.
His injury occurred when starting cornerback Byron Maxwell came up with an interception that set up a Steven Hauschka field goal.
Lane was expected to become a key part of the Seahawks defense, but this will apparently have to wait a while.
According to the Seahawks’ official Twitter account, Lane will need a while to recover from his groin injury.
Carroll said the only injury last night was to Jeremy Lane (groin) who will be out “a while”.
