The Seattle Seahawks will be facing the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship, and their defense remains as strong as ever following a Super Bowl victory last season.
Their defense ranks first in multiple categories, and they are expected by many to repeat as Super Bowl champions. The Seahawks defense has been known for its dominance and confidence.
Cornerback Richard Sherman is not the only player to be outspoken, as defensive end Michael Bennett made a bold claim about the Seahawks defense.
“I think we’re No. 1 right now in our era. It’s all based off era. Everybody’s different. Right now, we feel like we’re the best and we’re playing the best. I feel like we’re No. 1 right now,” Bennett said to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Bennett led the Seahawks with seven sacks in the regular season, consistently pressuring quarterbacks despite not having a high sack total.
The Seahawks will have a perfect opportunity to establish themselves as the best defense of this era as the Packers had the top-ranked scoring offense in the NFL with 30.4 points scored per game.
