The Seattle Seahawks will play the San Diego Chargers in their next preseason game as they look to figure out who Russell Wilson’s backup will be.
The Seattle Seahawks faced the Denver Broncos in a Super Bowl rematch and were on the losing end, so they will look to flex their muscles against the San Diego Chargers.
Quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw a game-ending interception at the three-yard line, so his bid to be Russell Wilson’s backup took a big hit. Meanwhile, Tarvaris Jackson looked efficient, so he has an edge for the No. 2 job battle for now.
Rookie wide receiver Paul Richardson led the team in receiving with four receptions and 37 yards. Percy Harvin is still trying to get back on the field after having his foot stepped on in practice. The injury is not considered too serious though.
The Chargers dominated in their first preseason match against the Dallas Cowboys. Their quarterback play was virtually flawless, and Branden Oliver made a bid for a roster spot by rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.
Oliver will be a player to watch as he continues to battle for a roster spot. Tight end Ladarius Green made the most of his playing time by catching both passes thrown to him for 26 yards. If he keeps up his production, he may unseat Antonio Gates as the starter.
