Juve reportedly ahead in the race to land Serbian international.
Manchester City full-back Alexsandar Kolarov is set to be at the centre of a transfer battle between Serie A giants Juventus and Inter this summer.
The 27-year-old is reportedly valued at £6m, and has previously suggested that he wishes to quit the Etihad this summer in order to find regular football elsewhere.
Despite the dismissal of Roberto Mancini, it is expected Kolarov may have a tough time breaking into new boss Manuel Pellegrini’s starting line-up, and therefore he instructed his agent to begin looking elsewhere last week.
It is understood that Inter have been tracking the full-back for some time, but according to Tuttosport, as reported by football-italia.net, Juventus have emerged as favourites to land his signature.
Speculation suggests that they will propose an initial loan deal with a €1.5m fee, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of next season with a payment of €5.5m.
It would mark the second time in a week that the Bianconeri have done business with City, following the arrival of Carlos Tevez on Thursday.
However, it is unclear at this stage as to whether Inter will now press ahead with their plans to sign Kolarov and steal a march on their rivals.
The player has given no indication as to which move he would prefer, but given his previous statements, it is clear that the guarantee of first-team football is paramount to his next move.
Juventus perhaps have the edge in any potential transfer clash, as they can offer the incentive of European football next season while also chasing their third successive Scudetto.
