Serie A giants Fiorentina have made Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma a priority target in the upcoming January transfer window, according to reports.
Zouma has featured in all four of the Blues’ Premier League fixtures this season, but La Nazione [via Sport] reports Fiorentina are keen to lure the Frenchman to the Artemio Franchi when the transfer window re-opens in a few months’ time.
Chelsea are said to be open to a loan deal for the youngster, but it remains to be seen if manager Jose Mourinho would be willing to allow the defender to leave considering the club’s current defensive woes.
However, the Blues tied up a deal for Nantes centre-back Papy Djilobodji during the summer window to add depth to the back third.
It is reported that Fiorentina want the option to buy Zouma at the end of a loan stint, and the Blues could allow the 20-year-old to leave should the club tie up a deal for John Stones next summer.
