Despite having been the No.1 at Stamford Bridge for 10 years, Cech has found himself watching from the bench for much of this season as Thibaut Courtois has taken his place between the sticks.
Courtois returned to West London over the summer following three years of success on-loan at Atletico Madrid and at 10 years younger than the Czech Republic international, the 22-year-old is viewed as the better prospect for the future.
However, that is not to say that Cech is past it and many top sides have already shown interest in the ‘keeper and are looking to give him a route out of the Blues.
Arsenal and Liverpool are the biggest contenders from the Premier League, but Roma are hoping that the 32-year-old snubs staying in England to start a new adventure in Serie A.
Their current first choice stopper Morgan De Sanctis is now 37-years-old and looks almost certain to leave the Stadio Olimpico next summer – meaning manager Rudi Garcia needs a new No.1.
That is what has attracted him to Cech, who the club are looking to sign in January for a fee of around £7m.
