Juan Sebastian Veron
Argentine midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is a player who impressed before joining United rather than afterwards, having been one of the stars of Serie A during his time with Parma and Lazio. It never worked out for Veron at United, or indeed Chelsea, but he did go on to have additional success back in Argentina after returning to his first club Estudiantes.
