Supporters of Sevilla want Chelsea’s on loan winger Marko Marin to remain at the club permanently.
Sevilla fans have launched a campaign to keep Chelsea’s on loan winger Marko Marin in Andalusia permanently – by finding him a Spanish wife.
According to German daily Bild, the German star has captured the hearts of Sevilla fans since arriving on a season-long deal from Stamford Bridge this summer.
And rather than demanding the club sign a new centre half or striker, the fans want to find a Mrs. Marin as soon as possible.
The tactic previously worked for former Schalke star Ivan Rakitic, who remained at the club after marrying a Spaniard despite receiving several offers from elsewhere.
Marin, who is already known as the ‘German Messi’ to Sevilla fans, has impressed since arriving in Spain, bagging two goals in Sevilla’s first-leg Europa League play-off win over Slask Wroclaw.
Marin made just six appearances for Chelsea last term after arriving from Werder Bremen and his opportunities to impress in West London in the future have been further limited by the summer arrivals of Willian and Christian Atsu.
Sevilla head-coach Unai Emery Marin said: “He has incredible talent and breakneck speed. He is the player who makes the difference.”
