There’s a chance for another giant killing in the FA Cup as League One Sheffield United play host to Premier League outfit Fulham in the fourth round.
Despite having been poor in the English third tier this season the Blades are high on confidence in this competition after eliminating Aston Villa last time out.
The 1-2 result at Villa Park was the shock of the round and sets up Nigel Clough’s side with their second fixture with top tier opposition – this time at Bramall Lane.
There is every chance as well as United have won all four of the previous occasions these two have met in the FA Cup, whilst the Cottagers have been knocked out at this stage for the past two years.
The visitors may also have one eye on the mid-week league fixtures as well as they try and survive relegation and are expected to make several changes to their starting XI.
Squad players such as Elsad Zverotic, Lasse Vigen Christensen and Aaron Hughes are all in contention for starts, whilst Fernando Amorebieta is a doubt due to a knee injury.
Billy Paynter, Elliott Whitehouse and Callum McFadzean are all ineligible for the match for the home team having played for other sides in previous rounds.
Chris Porter and Shaun Miller are therefore competing for a place up-front in Paynter’s absence, alongside Jose Baxter.
