Julian Draxler potentially out until March after he ruptured tendon…
Arsenal’s chances of signing £37m German playmaker Julian Draxler are in doubt, after it emerged that the 20-year-old would be out until March with an injury, the Daily Mail reports.
The Gunners were apparently prepared to meet the prodigal playmaker’s release clause, which would have allowed him to move to the Emirates this January.
His injury though means Arsenal, and any other interested club, will more than likely wait until the summer to try and sign him again.
Draxler’s club Schalke have booked him in for an appointment with renowned injury specialist Hans-Muller Wohlfahrt in Munich on Thursday, meaning it’s unlikely a transfer will materialise this week, at least.
It was suggested that Arsenal see Draxler as a potential spearhead striker, and will plan on developing him into a no.9 much like they did with Thierry Henry and Robin Van Persie, who both arrived at the club as attacking midfielders.
