The West Ham boss revealed that he had the option of bringing Bony to the club when he was at Vitesse in the Eredivisie, but decided to bring Carroll to East London for £15m instead.
The Ivorian then went on to join Swansea City for £12m, and has been fantastic ever since his switch to the top flight of English football.

Carroll’s time at West Ham has been blighted with injury, and he has not had the impact that Allardyce would have hoped.
In stark contrast, Bony has enjoyed an excellent stint in the Premier League, and looks destined for bigger and better things.
