Hall of Fame power forward Karl Malone spent most of his career playing with the Utah Jazz and won two MVP awards, but he was unable to win a title with them despite his team making the Finals twice.

At age 40, Malone signed with the Los Angeles Lakers for his final season along with point guard Gary Payton in an effort to retire with a championship.
Despite those two playing with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant and being favored to win it all after reaching the 2004 NBA Finals, the Lakers were defeated, 4-1, in the series by the Detroit Pistons.
Malone and Bryant were not the best of friends, and their feud allegedly stemmed from Malone making inappropriate comments about and hitting on Bryant’s wife, Vanessa.
Time has not healed all their wounds as Malone has publicly challenged the Lakers star to fight him, saying that he has a standing offer for Bryant to “knuckle up.”
SB Nation NBA revealed that Malone “suggested” Temecula, Calif. as a destination on Twitter.
