The Seattle Seahawks will be facing the New England Patriots for the first time since the 2012 regular season as they battle for the Super Bowl title.
The Seahawks are known for talking trash and backing it up on the field, and they have not changed that one bit this season as cornerback Richard Sherman and other defensive players have engaged in it.
Nickel cornerback Jeremy Lane joined in on the fun and jabbed at Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
“I actually don’t think he’s that good. He’s OK. But he does have a big body, and from what I’ve seen on tape, he don’t like your hands being put on him,” Lane said to the Seattle Times.
Lane may be waking a sleeping giant though as Gronkowski has been a first-team All-Pro player three times in his five-year career.
Due to this trash talk, Gronkowski may have a new target to “throw out of the club.” Quarterback Tom Brady will also seek to silence Sherman after being burned with a “U mad bro?” meme on Twitter.
UPDATE: Gronkowski has responded to Lane’s attack, saying that his comments may “tick him off.” Pro Football Talk released his comments on Twitter.
