It looked to be a textbook victory for the Blues as they took a 2-0 lead against the Bantams at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, only for the Yorkshire outfit to complete a brilliant comeback and progress to the next round.
Mourinho has been scathing of his side in the aftermath of the loss, but has also hinted that he won’t be able to achieve success with the West Londoners unless they add more depth to his squad.
“I don’t want to speak too much about this, but it is easy for you to understand now why I play almost every game with the same players,” the 51-year-old was quoted by CaughtOffside.

Mourinho will need to rally his team quickly as they face Liverpool in the second-leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final on Tuesday with the aggregate score level at 1-1.
