Ashton and Tariq Sims will leave the Cowboys at the end of the season.
The North Queensland Cowboys have announced Ashton and Tariq Sims will leave the club at the end of the 2014 NRL season.
29-year-old Ashton has a agreed to a two-year deal with English Super League club Warrington Wolves, while younger brother Tariq would be leaving the Cowboys after four seasons with the club.
NRL.com.au are reporting that Tariq could possibly make a move to join the youngest of the Sims trio, Korbin, at the Newcastle Knights, although it is yet to be confirmed.
Ashton Sims said he was exited to join the Wolves, though his focus is primarily on helping the Cowboys to a premiership this season.
“I’m really looking forward to a new challenge at a great club,” said Sims.
“The time is right for my family and me to experience something new and we are really looking forward to this adventure. I have spoken to (Wolves coach) Tony Smith and he has told me much about the club, its culture and its professionalism.
“While my focus remains on helping the North Queensland Cowboys to the semi-finals and hopefully a premiership, I’m also excited about what awaits me overseas next year.”
The Cowboys currently sit 11th on the NRL ladder, but still remain in finals contention.
