Peter Schmeichel was hailed as the great Dane behind the Manchester United back four, and the loud-mouthed goalkeeper was one of the most important factors in the Red Devils domestic dominance during the 90s. Schmeichel was physically imposing and a tremendous shot-stopper, who Fergie struggled to replace for several years following his departure in 1999.
