Injuries may have hampered the Serbian in recent seasons but there’s little doubt that Vidic ranks among Fergie’s greatest ever signings at Old Trafford. The centre-half is as tough and uncompromising as they come and has marshalled the defence superbly since arriving in 2006. The now 31-year-old will be crucial in passing on his wisdom to United’s promising new generation of defenders.
