It was a shocking start for Italy, and their defence looked weaker than ever. They gifted Scotland a try, and you would be forgiven for thinking they might have run away with it.
The Italians fought back however, and closed the gap right before half time.
Kelly Haimona hit the post with a penalty effort, but it fell to Giovanbattista Venditti who somehow managed to sneak it over the line under immense Scottish pressure.
Italy came close to taking the lead late on, forcing Scotland back towards their own in-goal area. They were penalised for a collapsing scrum however, and the referee almost lost control of the game as the Italians vented their frustrations.
It looked like Scotland were going to hold on for the win, but a late surge from Italy saw them secure an 80th minute penalty try.
The conversion was successful, and with no time to restart the match, Italy ran out 22-19 winners.
The players were ecstatic, and some headed towards to the stands to celebrate with the fans.
Not a huge upset, but after the start Scotland had it was a real surprise to see Italy get the win.
