2) Neven Subotic – Borussia Dortmund

One of Louis van Gaal’s top transfer targets over the summer was believed to be Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels. The German defender insisted he was happy in the Bundesliga however, and committed his future to Dortmund.

For this reason United may have turned their attention to his central defensive partner Neven Subotic. A slightly cheaper option than Hummels, the Serbian international Subotic could be Manchester United’s new Nemanja Vidic.
