3. Russell Wilson is a proven playoff quarterback
Tom Brady is receiving all the accolades for being a quarterback who shows up in the playoffs, and rightfully so since he holds the all-time record for playoff wins with 20. He has also won three Super Bowls. However, his playoff performance has trailed off since the Patriots lost Super Bowl 42. His playoff record since the 2007 season is 6-5. Meanwhile, Wilson has gotten off to a somewhat Brady-like start in his playoff career with a 6-1 record.
He is also 10-0 against Super Bowl winning quarterbacks in his career, beating Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers twice this season and overcoming Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning in last year’s Super Bowl. Wilson also defeated Brady himself in his rookie season. While quarterbacks are not the only part of a team victory, Wilson’s resume speaks for itself. He has also come through in the clutch on numerous occasions.
