2. Andrew Luck is close to cementing himself as an elite quarterback
Luck has made an impact for the Colts since the day he stepped on the field for them, and their offense has become a lethal force in his third season after he threw a league-leading 40 touchdown passes. The Colts quarterback has also taken the next step forward in his playoff resume by leading the Colts to the AFC Championship after engineering an upset over the Broncos.
Luck will need a Super Bowl win to be labeled “elite” for good, but he has a strong argument now after leading the Colts to the playoffs in each of his first three years despite inheriting a 2-14 team. It’s hard to argue that he has been a top-five quarterback this season alone, so calling him “elite” is reasonable. He still has a little ways to go to officially join the likes of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and Peyton Manning though.
