Daylon Claasen could sign for Blackpool after an impressive trial.
South Africa international Daylon Claasen could possibly join fellow natives Dean Furman and Bongani Khumalo in the Championship after a successful trial at Blackpool, according to MTN Football.
The 23-year-old made an impact on trial at Everton last season, and had Moyes not moved to Manchester United he could well have been a Toffees player.
Claasen also gained recognition during a trial for another English Premier League team, Hull, earlier this month.
Had he moved to either team he would have represented South Africa at the highest level alongside former Bafana Bafana captain Steven Pienaar and Kagisho Diksgacoi, instead of the aforementioned Furman and Khumalo in the second tier.
But due to a low number of caps for SA, he could face problems attaining a work permit to play in the English top-flight.
Conversely, his international merits would be beneficial to the Seasiders, so would be more likely to gain a work permit for the Championship side.
Claasen has also had trial stints at Scottish champions Celtic and Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Braunschweig.
His former club Lierse recently made the midfielder a free agent, where he served 69 appearances during two seasons.
