According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Luke is in advanced talks with the Warriors and is citing family reasons for his departure from the Rabbitohs.
The 27-year-old played a starring role in New Zealand’s 26-12 ANZAC Test win over the Kangaroos on Sunday and has previously been chased by the Warriors in 2014.
It is believed the Rabbitohs will not stand in Luke’s way after spending more than seven seasons with the club.
Luke’s signing would come as a huge boost for the Warriors, who have already locked-in Sydney Roosters fullback Roger Tuivasa-Sheck on a three-year deal beginning next season.
The Kiwi joined the Rabbitohs from the Canterbury Bulldogs in 2007 and has since played 174 games for the club.
Luke was part of South Sydney’s 2014 premiership-winning side, but missed the grand final due to suspension.
