Southampton want Javier Hernandez as part of Luke Shaw swap deal…
Southampton are showing interest in Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, and want the Mexican as part of any deal that the Red Devils ink for the Saints’ star defender Luke Shaw.
The Daily Mail reports that Southampton are probably looking at Hernandez as a long term replacement for Rickie Lambert, who recently completed his dream move to Liverpool.
The Saints have lost their influential manager Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham and are also on the verge of losing their skipper Adam Lallana to the Reds, which has now forced them to play hardball in negotiations with Man United over 18-year old Shaw.
The Red Devils desperately want the England international as a long term replacement for their ageing veteran Patrice Evra, and they might get their man if they agree to sell Hernandez to the South Coast club.
The likes of Valencia and Inter Milan have also shown interest in the Mexican though, and it will be interesting to see where the 26-year old ends up next season.
